Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide (1L)
Ultimate protection and performance
Treat and protect your diesel fuel system from harmful bacteria and fungi with the powerful Pro-Ma Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide. This potent biocide will kill and prevent regrowth of most types of organisms that grow in fuels. It is particularly effective against the most common type of growth, Cladosporium Resinae, as well as against bacteria yeasts and other fungi. Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide is totally organic and certified marine safe leaving no ash or combustion.
Bacteria or Fungal growth in fuel only occurs when water is present. As water is heavier than fuel, these bacteria or fungal growth form at the interface between the water and diesel fuel and “feed” off the hydrocarbons in the fuel. Water can form in fuel tanks through condensation or transfer contamination from another tank from which fuel is sourced. Left untreated, these bacteria or fungal growths can rapidly reproduce and cause total filter blockage and severe damage to fuel systems. Maintenance of fuel tanks require removal of as much of the water as possible and a regular maintenance treatment using Pro-Ma Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide.
200mL treats 1,000 litres
1 Litre treats 5,000 litres fuel
THIS PRODUCT IS SUITABLE FOR VEHICLE, MARINE AND BULK FUEL TANKS
Remove as much water as possible from fuel tank. If evidence of contamination, remove as much as possible prior to treating the tank. Add the appropriate amount of Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide to the tank prior to filling. The application of fuel will disperse the contents and the Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide remains in suspension throughout the fuel mass.
NOTE: Dose the fuel tank every time you fill with fresh fuel as this will continue to control any possible bacteria growth. Fuel Filters should be inspected and monitored once you have started treating contaminated fuel. When the Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide kills the various organisms, they will dislodge from the sides and bottom of the fuel tank and from fuel systems. Clean fuel filters regularly until all indications of bacteria have ceased. Consistent use of the Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide will prolong filter life further saving operational and maintenance costs.
